UZBEKISTAN

5th ASIAN Athletics Youth Champs at Tashkent / 27. – 30.04.2023

(-courtesy of the UZB-Federation – website- )

these Continental Championships for Youth/U18 athletes (born 2006 or 2007) were held with participants from 29 countries; unfortunately 16 ASIAN AA Member Federations didn´t enter athletes at all (including Japan with their talented young athletes, which effected esp.the rather poor performances in the Middle/Long Distance events)

a strong team from CHINA won 15 of the 40 events and topped the medal tally with 24 medals (15 Gold,

7 Silver & 2 Bronze) followed by INDIA (6 + 11 + 7 = 24), KAZAKHSTAN  (3 + 6 + 5 = 14) and the host country, UZBEKISTAN  (3 + 3 + 6 = 12 medals)

the complete Championships results and the Medal Tally are attached by a separate file

following is a review with explanations concerning all major performances such as
