Gen.Dahlan Al Hamad, President of Asian AA, visited Laos to grace the occasion of the Vientiane International Marathon held on 25 December 2022. Notably, this was their first Marathon Laos Federation staged successfully following covid. During the Marathon, Dr Phout Simmalavong , Minister of Education and Sports and President of the Lao Olympic Committee, met with Gen Dahlan and addressed various concerns on the development of athletics in Laos.
The Minister requested the support of Asian AA to develop their coaches and athletes. Gen Dahlan expressed his opinion and agreed to his request, vouching that he would act immediately. Following the Marathon, Gen Dahlan had an opportunity to visit the Stadium and met with Mr Saysana Thongkhamchanh, President of the Laos Athletics Federation. Gen Surapong Ariyamongkol, Senior Vice President of Asian AA, and A Shuggumarran, Secretary General of Asian AA, accompanied him during his visit.
