Japan’s sprinters set new Asian Record in 4x100m relay on route Silver medal in the Rio Olympic Games

Rio, Aug 20, 2016 – Japan men’s 4x100m relay team consisting of YAMAGATA Ryota, IIZUKA Shota, KIRYU Yoshihide and CAMBRIDGE Aska not only set Asian record twice but also secured Silver medal, one up from Beijing 2008 with a performance of 37.60s.

China who first set Asian record in the heats ended up on the highly creditable fourth place with 37.90s. Team Jamaica led by legendary Usain Bolt who won his 9th Gold medal in the Olympic Games
