Stage set for Doha Diamond League
IAAF Diamond League 2017 will begin with Asia and its first stop will be in Doha on 5th May followed by Shanghai in China.
The Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) under the leadership of HE Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari announced the formation of the Higher Organizing Committee of the 2017 Doha Diamond League to be staged at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium on May 05.
The event will feature the following disciplines:
Men’s events: 100m, 400m, 1500m, 3000m, High Jump, Triple Jump and Javelin Throw.
Women’s events: 200m, 800m, 3000m Steeplechase, 100m Hurdles, Pole Vault and Shot Put.
Over the course of the summer, the IAAF Diamond League will cross four continents, 11 countries and 14 cities.
The new championship format will see gripping finals held in Brussels and Zürich at the end of the season.
