Future champions! How was the second day of 4th Asian Youth Athletics Championship 2022 in Kuwait

Winners of eleven different disciplines has been identified. Boys and girls from all over 30 Asian countries competed, and shared motivations for the future competitions. 

Since the weather climate in Kuwait is specific, the schedule of the championship has been divided into two sessions: morning and evening.

During the morning session, athletes of decathlon discipline have shown their strength and power in 110m hurdles, discus throw and pole vault, then went to prepare for the final two rounds. 

Meanwhile, girls have shown incredible results in discus throw and identified who is the best one this time. The first place was obtained by Ching-yuan Chiang from Taipei with the result 45.42. Im Chaeyeon and Nikita Kumari place were really close to her with the results 44.21 and 44.14, respectively. However, they only shared second and third place.


The evening session was really important for a lot of athletes, because there were 9 finals: high jump, javelin throw, triple jump, 400m, 100m, 100m hurdles and last two rounds of decathlon.

High Jump, girls

1) Sayfullaeva Barnokhon (UZB) – 1.84 m

2) Alina Chistyakova (KAZ) – 1.73 m

3) Bui Thi Kim Anh (VIE) – 1.73 m

Javelin throw, boys

1) Chao-hong Huang (TPE) – 80.40

2) Arjun (IND) – 70.98 

3) Himanshu Mishra (IND) – 67.67 

Triple Jump, boys

1) Ng Tak Sing (MAS) – 14.62

2) Farid Gharanjik (IRI) – 14.35

3) Bakheet Sami Mousa (KSA) – 14.26

The fastest athletes of each country competed, to identify who is the fastest in Asia in two different distances 400m and 100m. In 400m distance, the first boy who crossed the finish line was representative from Iran, Seyed Mohammad Sajjad Aghaei (48.37 sec), while among the girls, the winner was Hoang Thi Anh Thuc (55.03 sec)from Vietnam. Since the 100m is the short distance, but very intriguing, athletes have shown great and very close results. The world record for this distance is still under Usain Bolt, but our juniors are also having what to show for Worldwide Track & Field. This time, the fastest boy was Puripol Boonson (10.33 sec) from Thailand, and the fastest girls was Valentin Vanesa Lonteng (11.69 sec) from Indonesia.

Today, the best three athletes in decathlon were identified. Athletes have been competed for 10 rounds in different disciplines. Round by round, the top 3 has been changing several times, each of them wanted to keep the leader position. Overall, considering all 10 rounds, the gold medal in decathlon was obtained by Norbaev Nodir from Uzbekistan with 6934 points. Silver winner is Sina Afshinfar (6147) from Iran, and the bronze one was won by Al Alkhazali Sajjad Ahmed (5674) from Saudi Arabia.

Two days left until the end of 4th Asian Youth Athletics Championship. For some athletes have finished their journey in this tournament, some of them are still have a chance to their abilities, and why they deserve to be the gold winner.
