FINAL DAY OF 5TH ASIAN U18 ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP 2022 IN TASHKENT

For four days, young athletes from all over 30 countries from Asia have been competing in the 5th Asian Youth Athletics Championship 2023 in Tashkent. It was a long journey for each of them, they have shown how strong they are prepared, and their best during the championship. During the first three, it was very impressive to observe the motivation and strength of Asian juniors under 18, and the final day was not an exception. During the morning session, girls have participated in the last three rounds of heptathlon, while in the evening others have been identifying the winner in 10 different disciplines.

Chinese boys, Zhang Shengming(7.64m) and Li Chengliang (7.61m) got the gold and silver medal, respectively in the long jump, and the bronze one was obtained by Abdullah Alazemi (7.42m) from Kuwait. Discus Throw, boys 1) Choi Jaeno (KOR) – 54.59 m 2) Ritik (IND) – 54.03 m 3) Rakhmatulloev Abduazim (UZB) – 54.00 m Running discipline by itself is a very interesting sport, however, the 2000 m steeplechase is also deserved as a fascinating discipline in track & field. Among the boys the first to cross the finish line was Yusef Azariyan from Iran, with the result 5:55.84. Meanwhile, among the girls, the one who got the gold medal was Muhammadjonova Muhayyo from Uzbekistan, by finishing the distance in 7:10.45. 200 m, boys 1) Meng Desheng (CHN) – 21.05 sec. 2) Zeng Keli (CHN) – 21.19 sec. 3) Abhay Singh (IND) – 21.39 sec. 200 m, girls 1) Li Tsz To (HKG) – 24.27 sec. 2) Rezoana Mallick Heena (IND) – 24.38 sec. 3) Layla Kamal (BRN) – 24.49 sec.

Moreover, the last day of the championship will be remembered as how teamwork is supposed to work, and Medley Relay is a good example for it. Winners among the boys are the national team from Thailand, and among the girls the winners are the national team from India. Considering all the results, Konichsheva Irina from Kazakhstan, who obtained 5154points, won the golden medal of 5th Asian Youth Athletics Championship.

Four days of competition, four days of celebration, four days of motivation for future championships, this is how the 5th Asian Youth Athletics Championship in Tashkent went. For some athletes it was full of victories, and for some of them it was a great lesson for the future.

But it is not the end, the 6th Asian U18 Athletics Champions 2025 is going to be held in Saudi Arabia. See you there!
