Dilshod Nazarov provides first ever Olympic gold medal for Tajikistan in Olympic Games history

Rio, 20 Aug 2016- Dilshod Nazarov of Tajikistan is now an Olympic Hammer Throw Champion.  Competing in his 4th Olympic hammer throw competition, Dilshod did not let this opportunity a miss. His third round throw of 78.07m put him in the lead which he further extended with a gold medal winning throw of 78.68m in the fifth round. 

Dilshod dedicated his victory to the people of Tajikistan and thankful of all the support given by his fans in his bid to be an Olympic Champion. 

First thing Dilshod is doing is to take a flight back to Dushanbe and meet his family and mother Zaytuna who is his coach, mentor, inspiration and caring mother. He can’t wait to eat home food and celebrate country’s first medal with loved ones.  ( Read more about Dilshod )
