Athletes from Asia shine in the 6th CISM World Military Games in Korea

Athletes from Asian countries won as many as 35 medals including 16 Gold medals in the track and field events of recently concluded 6th CISM World Military Games (4-11Oct 2015) in Korea. Athletes from Bahrain lead the gold rush with 7 gold medals followed by China with 4 gold medals and Saudi Arabia with 2 gold medals. 

Barakat Mubarak Al-Harthi of Oman emerged fastest athlete of the Games with a performance of 10.16s, also a new National record for Oman. Syrian high jumper Majid Eldein Ghazal improved his national record to 2.31m to win Gold medal in the men’s high jump. Asian record holder Youssef Ahmed Al-Masrahi of Saudi Arabia won men’s 400m with 45.18s

Salwa Eid Nasser of Bahrain set World Youth leading mark in the 400m with a Gold medal winning performance of 51.39s. Zhang Wenxiu of China set new Hammer throw Games record with a throw of 74.87m.
