The 10th Asian Athletics Indoor Championships ended in Astana. On the last day of the Championship, 12 final competitions were held. All prize-winning places in the women’s high jump were taken by athletes from Kazakhstan. The best result of 189 cm was shown by Nadezhda Dubovitskaya and Kristina Ovchinnikova. Ovchinnikova lost first place in the number of attempts. Third place was taken by Elizaveta Matveeva with a score of 184 cm.
The best among men in long jump with a result of 8.02 meters was the Taipei athlete Lin Yu Tang. Jeswin Aldrin from India came in second with 7.97 meters, and Chang Mingkun from China came in third with 7.92 meters.
Athlete from Saudi Arabia Husain asim Alkhizam became the Champion in pole vault with a score of 5.45 meters. Qatari athlete Seyfeldin Muhamed Abdilsalam took 2nd place with a score of 5.35 meters, the athlete from Thailand Patsapong Amsamarng lost only the number of attempts and took 3rd place with a score of 5.35 meters. Kazakhstani Ivan Tovchennik took 4th place with a score of 5.25. The men’s team of Kazakhstan in the 4×400 meters relay race won the gold medal of the Asian Championship. Andrey Sokolov, Elnor Mukhitdinov, Vyacheslav Zems and Mikhail Litvin, with the result of 3:09.15, brought another gold medal to the country’s treasury and broke a new national record. In second place is the Qatari team with a score of 3:09.26, in third place is the Tajik team with a score of 3:34.45. In the 4x400m relay, the women’s team of Kazakhstan also crossed the finish line first with a score of 3:44.21. Among women in the long jump, the first place was taken by an athlete from Japan – Sumire Hata (6.64 meters), the second place – by an athlete from China Huang Yingying (6.43 meters), 3rd place – Daria Reznichenko from Uzbekistan (6.37 meters). ). In the men’s high jump, Reichi Akamatsu (Japan) became the Champion with a height of 2.28 meters. Wu Sanghyek (Korea) took 2nd place with a score of 2.24 meters, an athlete from Syria Majd Eddin Ghazal (2.24 meters) – 3rd place. In the men’s 3000 meters Kazakhstan’s Shedrak Kimutai Koech took 3rd place with a score of 7:59.84. 1st place went to Muhammad Algarni (Qatar) with a score of 7:55.25, 2nd place went to Keita Sato (Japan) with a score of 7:56.41. David Efremov won another gold medal among men at a distance of 60 meters with barriers. Our athlete covered this distance in 7.65 seconds. The second place was taken by Chem Kue Ru (7.68), the third place was taken by the Japanese Shukei Ishikawa (7.70). In the men’s decathlon, Japanese athletes are recognized as the best. 1st place went to Yuma Maruyama (Japan), 2nd place – Keisuke Okuda (Japan), 3rd place – Jenri Ubas (Philippines). The Kuwaiti athlete became the Champion in the men’s 800 meters. Ebrahim Alzofairy was the first to cross the finish line in 1:49.33 seconds. Prize-winning 2nd and 3rd places were taken by Qatari athletes. Abdurakhman Said Hassan showed the result of 1:49.58, Musaab Abdulrahman Bala – 1:49.68. In the women’s 800 meters Wu Hong Jiao (China) placed 1st with a time of 2:06.85, Ayano Shiomi from Japan placed 2nd with a time of 2:07.18, Rao Xinyu (China) placed 3rd place with a score of 2: 08.75. Akbayan Nurmamet crossed the finish line 4th with a score of 2:10.00. In the women’s 60m hurdles, Mayumi Aoki finished first with a time of 8.01 seconds. Jyoti Yarrahi (India) finished 2nd with 8.13 seconds, while Chen Jiamin of China finished 3rd with 8.15 seconds. According to the results of the medal count, the Kazakhstan team took 2nd place with 6 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. The Japanese team took 1st place with 6 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals, the Qatar team took 3rd place with 2 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze medals. At the official closing of the Championship, the President of the Asian Association, General Dahlan Al-Hamad, the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Askhat Oralov, and the President of the Athletics Federation of Kazakhstan, Danial Akhmetov, expressed gratitude to the athletes, organizers and fans.
